Question: As a follow-up to Donovan's question, you've said more than once that you've "been there done that" in reference to music players. Why the change of heart? Which circumstances?
Asked by Will (24.234.85.x) on July 7 2014, 4:47pm
Reply on July 7 2014, 6:12pm:
    The "been there done that" stands for music players, but I'd work on Winamp again (on the side) if I could do it for fun and without any BS.

Question: Would you at this time consider working with Winamp once again?

Question: Have you read "Hacking Twitter", a book detailing the creation of Twitter? Lots of backstabbing and vying for power. I wonder if anything like that went no at Nullsoft. Do you think everyone came away feeling like they got a fair shake, or do you regret anything?
Asked by Will (68.104.121.x) on July 4 2014, 2:31pm
Reply on July 6 2014, 2:56pm:
    I haven't read that book. I don't think everyone is always completely happy with how things turn out in these deals, there will always be some people who feel undervalued... that's the way it goes.

Question: More and more hardware synth editors are becoming VST3 only (Yamaha Motif, Roland Integra-7)... Since some Reaperites like to depend on hw devices, would it be too much to expect VST3 support in Reaper sooner rather than later? Like, v5?
Asked by Tinny (88.207.78.x) on July 1 2014, 12:46pm
Reply on July 2 2014, 5:07pm (edited at July 3 2014, 1:46pm):
    We'll look at it at some point. It definitely won't happen in 4.x (which isn't to say that will happen for 5.0 either).
      Reply: <Tinny> That doesn't sound too encouraging re: VST3 :(

Question: What were your plans before AOL bought Nullsoft? Did you have other ideas in the pipeline that never panned out because of it?

Reply on July 2 2014, 5:06pm:
    This and that, nothing earth shattering though.

Reply on June 27 2014, 10:42pm (edited at June 27 2014, 10:44pm):
    I'm looking forward to the new Philip Selway album... let's see, what do I have from 2014? Nothing yet. Some good stuff from 2013 though. I suppose there are albums this year that I should listen to, from The Black Keys, Beck, The Pixies, and so on, but I haven't found myself caring. Oh also the new Tycho album is pretty good, and chill.

    Use:
    HWND ttw = GetTooltipWindow();
    HFONT font = (HFONT) SendMessage(ttw,WM_GETFONT,0,0);
    if (font) { /* use font for LICE_CachedFont */ }
