It greatly favors those with excess over those with nothing, and doesn't provide incentive for investment or commerce. Also: to buy anything with bitcoin requires trusting the merchant completely. If I pay you 1 BTC for something, and I never get it, I really have no recourse, other than to complain. It's like I sent you cash in the mail. Comment... Question: re: bitcoin. Much has happened and learned since 2013. For example regarding the environmental costs they should really be compared to the systems bitcoin disrupts, not just the costs of bitcoin in a vacuum. Re: deflation, computer tech is deflationary yet it still progresses and has a thriving economy. I suggest it's worth a revisit.
