Question: Have you ever been out for several weeks/months on a big journey? If not, do you fancy doing it one day or are you feeling comfortable with short trips?
Asked by Albi (188.103.152.x) on March 19 2015, 10:06pm
Reply on March 22 2015, 5:25pm:
Probably the longest is a month or so. I would, but I end up having day to day responsibilities... and by the end I'm sure I'd long for home, too.

Question: I was reading this article tinyurl.com/77cvnjh and when I reached the 3rd section about the abstract interface, REAPER's SDK came to mind. If I remember correctly you mention in the documentation that the SDK for win32 is compatible with MS C++ ABI only, and article states otherwise for this approach. Are you doing something more exquisite?
Asked by gio (94.70.23.x) on March 17 2015, 7:01pm
Reply on March 17 2015, 9:24pm:
We use abstract interfaces -- the MSVC C++ ABI thing is less relevant now, I think other compilers can support it on win32...

Question: When video editing, what software do you use for color grading?
Asked by Albi (188.106.194.x) on March 16 2015, 9:37pm
Reply on March 17 2015, 9:25pm:
I don't do any really, other than tweaking the white balance on my cameras and/or some REAPER lighting presets. I've played with Resolve Lite a bit, it seems awesome but I have no idea what I'm doing with it.

Question: Did you write this q&a script yourself? Is it open-source? If so, where can I download it?
Asked by Patrick (70.114.207.x) on March 16 2015, 9:32pm
Reply on March 17 2015, 9:25pm:
I did, but I haven't released the source to it (and probably won't because it's a big pile of crap).

Question: So what hardware/software do you use now?
Asked by Will (24.234.85.x) on March 5 2015, 11:40pm
Reply on March 6 2015, 12:34am:
Not everything has changed, I guess. Day to day I use VS2013 and Xcode6 rather than VC6/Xcode3, though the latter are still used for some builds (along with ICC). Also for a laptop I have a 15" Retina Macbook Pro which I use a lot, rather than the Sony. Still have the C2D iMac and the C2Q desktop too.

Question: Using git, I notice if you have uncommitted changes on tracked files, doing a git checkout on a branch or previous full commit will warn you to stash your new uncommitted changes first. However, if you checkout just one file, such as git checkout 1cbnah blah.txt when you have a new working copy of blah.txt that hasn't been committed, it gets written over w

Not sure the question here, but I'd never checkout an individual file personally.
