Asked by aombk (87.203.75.x) on November 27 2017, 12:03pm

No and no. My opinion is that those things are incredibly tedious and I'd rather spend my time programming and testing and making music and drinking coffee and running. :)

Ambiguous question... so many ways to answer. I think my favorite latte in NYC is from Gasoline Alley on Lafayette and Bleecker... That’s only one thing, but it’s an answer to a question you were not asking. Maybe you were talking about places coffee is grown? Or what countries make the best coffee drinks? In case of the former, I would say that variety is the spice of life eh, and the second, I only have limited experience in countries where i’ve consumed coffee...

Question: Did you hear that Cakewalk/Sonar is dead? Do you feel that your work (REAPER) was partly responsible for its demise?
Asked by Mommy (76.110.183.x) on November 22 2017, 11:03pm
Reply on November 23 2017, 2:32am (edited at November 23 2017, 2:34am):
I did hear this, it's sad. I can't say that I feel any responsibility, Gibson has done this before anyway right? Even if they hadn't, though, I'm just making something that I want to use.

    I assert the following:

(DAW users in 2017) - (DAW users in 2006) is a much, much bigger number than (REAPER users in 2017).

Question: I've been using Reaper for about 8 years. I love it. Do you think there's anything about your development process that makes Reaper have a "soul?" (especially compared to other DAWs?I often feel as though it is trying to help me make better music more efficiently.

Question: Whenever reinstalling Windows (or a new system) I always default to Winamp 2.81. The last one without full web and any integration. I still use it for all music playback and will continue to do so as long as it works. Any plans on updating/creating/remaking a version of a PLAYER of sorts that does the same thing? No resource hog, same controls, etc.? One day Cont'd: it will stop working. And I can't code so I can't do it myself. P.S. The spectrum voiceprint analyzer doesn't work at all. No matter what I try. It does work under Win XP in VirtualBox (I tried) but not in Windows 10. Any tips on making it work (with Winamp 2.81)? Thanks.

Sort of been there done that, you know? Re: voiceprint analyzer, I'd guess that there's some DirectDraw issue with Win10, maybe... Try running Winamp in Windows XP compatibility mode?
