Question: Do you prefer to have a feature request be a problem to be solved by yourself, or do you prefer finished solutions which you are expected to just implement ? I do have the sneaking suspicion it’s usually the former. Also, would you consider code contributions from community members for Reaper itself, and if so at all, under what conditions ?

It depends on the complexity and nature of of the solution, and whether it fits within the framework of code/design. As far as third party code, if it's BSD-licensed open source, we'll consider including it, otherwise generally not.
