Question: How do you keep track of the gazillions of features in Reaper so you don't break things with new features? Do you have some kind of reference-documentation or is the code itself docs enough? ;)

Try not to overengineer, I guess? :)

Question: There's some Reaper users that seem to spend their entire lives obsessing over the program creating scripts like it's their full-time job. Have you ever thought about just bringing them on to the actual team? Just wondering what your philosophy is on that.

The VM running it crapped out, my backup was old enough that I sort of said "fuck it, maybe I won't bother"... haven't really missed it since then!

Question: Any chance WDL_HeapBuf/WDL_TypedBuf to get constructs for iterators and ranges? For those of us that have become "modern" but still love WDL for what it is... it should be trivial but I see the other side of the argument too ;)

Question: You changed your avatar... I miss that llama already. You look a bit like Chuck Norris. That's cool. Only Chuck Norris could program Reaper so well

Question: I would like to get ninjam much bigger than it is right now. Is there any ways I can help ninjam to get more popular than what it is before? I can probably get a younger crowd to use Ninjam and experiment with it.

Question: In your reaper.fm website, in the download section, why we have to click on a down-arrow button to open the Linux experimental builds? Why not they are visible like Windows & Mac downloads?
Asked by Abhi (117.197.7.x) on June 27 2019, 3:27pm
Reply on June 28 2019, 1:41am:
    Because they are experimental.

Question: Do you use inclusively just Rea-FX/JSFX when working on Music. (or 3rd party FX) ?- Just Reckon you should be f--k--g proud of these FX you have created ;) and the stash/community of JSFX is amazing! Do you have a favourite Rea/JS FX? that you can't resist, or admire heaps, even if you don't use it too often?

Question: Have you heard of Loki (loki.network)? The architecture behind their upcoming messenger reminds me kinda of WASTE only on a grand scale and it uses crypto incentivized Service Nodes instead of users to route encrypted traffic.

Question: If extension for REAPER has 6 utilities with GUI (i'd say, they are pretty light-weight), some of them use chunk parsing and 1 of them interacts with JSFX for multi-track fx parameter processing, should i consider multi-threading in my code or not?
Asked by annoying_asker (107.170.186.x) on June 26 2019, 7:46am
Reply on June 26 2019, 2:46pm:
REAPER's API is mostly single-threaded... If you need to offline processing to a background thread you can, and if you need to get inside the audio processing of REAPER you can (but for the latter you shouldn't create your own threads, just let REAPER call your plug-in from other threads)... so yeah that.

Question: What effect does using folders and effects on folders as well as the master track have on multicore performance in Reaper? Does it make the tracks below use a single thread?
Asked by Nick (159.153.90.x) on June 25 2019, 9:59pm
Reply on June 25 2019, 11:32pm:
Folders do not force the children to run single-core, however if anticipative FX is not used (e.g. tracks are record armed, or it is disabled), then a single core still needs to be able to run the longest dependency chain in a row in realtime. To the extent that things are parallelizable, though, they will be parallelized.

Question: What type of transport is your fav, what do you ride mostly, if any.. car, bike, bicycle, space shuttle, etc.. ?
Asked by Pony (78.152.169.x) on June 25 2019, 6:30am
Reply on June 25 2019, 3:04pm:
Running is my favorite, followed by walking. They aren’t the most efficient, though, so bicycles are good for longer and/or more time sensitive journeys. Trains are often nice when too long to reasonably do on bicycle (bringing a bike on the train a plus)... but anything over about a 4 hour train ride is probably better suited to air travel.
