Question: how hard would it be to make a plugin that can real time tune polyphonic material ? is this something you would consider doing ? it would be useful for guitar on live performances / streaming where tuning might drift or intonation is a problem.. seems like a good challenge but i'm wondering how feasable is it ?
Asked by EcBaPr (119.18.3.x) on June 27 2020, 3:02am
Reply on June 27 2020, 11:23pm:
That would be incredibly difficult. Realtime pitch shifting of monophonic material is tough!

Question: There's currently a discussion on KVR if 32 bit processing is actually sufficient/64 bit processing a merketing thing: kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p...WQhat's your take?
Asked by wasereb4 (94.134.90.x) on June 19 2020, 11:13pm
Reply on June 20 2020, 3:29am:
Truncating to the 23 bit mantissa of 32-bit FP can result in rounding errors in real world scenarios, totally. Does it matter? Not usually. Could it matter? Sure. Does it cost much to preserve the extra precision in the intermediate states when mixing a project? No.

Question: I get worried - Do you?=when watching all these satire/sarcastic talkshow/comedians/news/current affairs shows laughing with/at your boss . I worry Tr@mp will get back in-because ''we'' need something to take the piss out of-feels like distracting the sheep from the wolf like atm. I hope, I am wrong, while I have a laugh. Just the entertainment value, might distract from the idioticy. Sorry, I didn't really ask a question ;) Hope you are well, and thanks for the titles of the new release & webpage;)

Question: Do you imagine jsfx will ever be powerful as vst? (what exactly does it currently -lack- in terms of ability??)
Asked by 2020 (95.151.177.x) on June 16 2020, 8:50pm
Reply on June 16 2020, 9:57pm:
It's turing complete, but can't create threads or network connections or a lot of other things, and the JSFX compiler doesn't produce as efficient of code as say, MSVC or clang. So, shrug?

Question: I'm comparing my renders from different Daws with same settings. When I make null test, phase difference between renders is around -70 db which is pretty low..I also can't hear any differences in my listening tests at different SPLs and on different systems. How can I make sure that other people also can't hear that, too? Is there a definiton for "inaudible by human ear" while comparing sound differences? Regards
Asked by mehmethan disbudak (95.14.32.x) on June 16 2020, 2:23am
Reply on June 16 2020, 9:57pm:
Not sure, it probably depends a lot on what the -70dB is and what the signal is...
