Question: What happens, if I set the last parameter in Undo_EndBlock to 0? All other values are documented but not, what 0 would do.

You can add in other UNDO_STATE_ values (similar to Undo_OnStateChange())

Question: Hello Mr. Frankel! Do you think that AI will be able to give the illusion of creativity or is it a quality that will remain truly human? Do you think an artist (acoustic instrument, composer) today can survive this kind of technological revolution? After all, composing is only recomposing. In this regard, do you think that there are too many fantasies about AI or, on the contrary, that society will be greatly impacted by 20 to 30 years ? Have a good day ! Regards, P.S. : I am very curious to have your opin

Question: Why don't you make vlog videos & upload them into YouTube? It can be anything, from outside, travelling, nature to just showing your home instruments, home studio tour, or just a home tour, etc. You will surely gain lots of subs & views in no time. ;) Also, a good way to earn money & a good way of entertainment for us :)

Question: Do you think a feature to "Copy/Paste" MIDI between softwares could exist? Like Software A makes a string telling all MIDI info it needs about an MIDI item and Software B interprets that string and uses it to create the MIDI item as was pasting it. I think we have many ways to transfer MIDI online between softwares, like rewire/MIDI cables, but very few to "offline" transfer MIDI, like exporting to a MID and the importing to another. But I don't know if any company would be interested in more connections

Copying MIDI events is already done using standard MIDI chunks, IIRC...

Question: A serious note : I think, there is a serious bug in REAPER which can corrupt project files and hence musicians can lose their songs. I was working in my song, suddenly my laptop's battery got very low and I didn't put it in charger in time so my laptop hibernated as usual. When I turned it on back while pluggin with my charger, opened my REAPER project, it showed error "There was an error parsing the specified project". When I opened my project file as text, there is no single word there. Fortunately, there is a backup project file (thanks to you for making backup feature), I loaded my backup project and it opened fine. But the original project file got corrputed just because my laptop went into hibernation mode because of low battery? I mean, is it possible? Only the backup project saved my month of hard-work in my song. What if my backup feature was not turned on? I would be ruined. Maybe you can simulate this in your low battery laptop with a dummy reaper project file or something? Or maybe it happened because my laptop got turned off during saving? If yes, then does it happen in all other softwares?

When saving a project, REAPER writes out a new file next to the old, then once it has successfully been written to disk, it renames the new file to the old. From what you describe, a bug in Windows or a driver likely resulted in data not being flushed to disk from the system cache when hibernating, so it's probably an issue that would happen elsewhere too. Hard to say for sure, though.

Question: Now rhat reaper has ARA integration for plugins like Melodyne, will we see an ara integration-linke for REATUNE manual correction mode and see spectral peaks converted in real time to adjustable blobs or notes that is possible to drag with the mouse instead of drawing lines that is less user fiendly? Thank You

ReaTune already has source sample access, blobs isn't really an ARA thing it's a higher level thing

Question: Hi. I have a super old Yamaha PSS-26 non-midi keyboard. Is there any way I can record sound from it into reaper or audacity? I mean not recording from mic, but recording directly via connecting a wire from that keyboard to my laptop? It have a headphone jack, yes.
Asked by The X (27.58.106.x) on February 11 2021, 12:50pm
Reply on February 11 2021, 10:31pm:
Sure! Probably best to get a dedicated audio interface that you can connect it to, but if your laptop has an audio input jack that would work too.
