Question: Just started getting into recording/production using Reaper. My background is in networking/servers, but about 5 years ago I switched into data analytics, and use Python a lot, so I'm at least intermediate level with that. Question: I would like to start exploring how to write plug-ins and other audio related software. Any recommendations, resources, tips what to do (and not to do), regarding how/where to get started?

Despite your proficiency in Python, its integration with REAPER is really poor when compared to Lua or EEL2, so I'd suggest you start with Lua. Learning more languages is a good thing, anyway :) Not sure where the best starting point is, though.
