Question: Does the @gfx of JSFX depends on monitor's refresh rate? A jsfx plugin has some lightning fast movement of boxes serving as highlighters, their fast movement causes some vertical tearing like old TV, but loading same plugin in YSFX vst has no tearing. So it got me wondering if the native @gfx kind of depends on hardware refresh rate or frame rate?

    cool, send me an email. Tried to create an account, the "Confirm your mail" link gave me this error: "Authentication failed: no_code. Please try again." (edit: though I was still able to log in after)

    also would be nice to tag the password field in such a way that I can have my browser generate a password when creating an account... :) it's a pain I know

    I use my old HDSP on Debian, which Ubuntu is based on. The drivers are in the kernel by default I think, maybe install the alsa-firmware-loaders and alsa-tools-gui packages? the tools you run start with hdsp*

    never rowed a real boat I don't think, I don't mind the ergs though maybe it's too rough for my back these days. Kayaking isn't bad. SUP feels the best though the least efficient obvs.

Question: In JSFX if you are syncing to host like the ff, should be at the @sample or the @block, which one is ideal? play_state & 1 ? ( host_sample_pos = floor(play_position * srate); beat_counter = host_sample_pos % (samples_per_beat * steps); ) : ( beat_counter = 0; );

Reply on August 24 2025, 1:08pm:
    @block should probably do the initial calculation, then @sample can count where it is relative to the block start

Question: "You previously mentioned that Reaper has hundreds of thousands of paying users. What led you to adopt this pricing model, and what are your thoughts on it? Many users might think: โ€˜Since I can already use all features fully without restrictions for free, why bother paying?โ€™ Do you believe adopting a model where users must pay to fully unlock all features would attract more users? Will you change your pricing approach in the future?"
Asked by nicotomia (39.88.194.x) on August 21 2025, 2:40am
Reply on August 21 2025, 5:24pm:
    I'm happy with the current model; if we had features locked up, then we'd spend more of our time on stupid copy protection stuff, and as it is now we don't really have to do that, which is nice.

Question: Hey, I'm at the University of Oslo working on DHIS2, open source healthcare software that nearly all low- and middle-income countries rely on. I am also a Reaper user ("Dear Screen" under the moniker agitDDos), I'm from Utah, and have been interested in your approach to sustaining Reaper. We need a new financial model in the post-Trump world, and it's my job to figure it out. Would you be interested in chatting?

Question: Hey Justin! Long time Reaper user and recently I've developed an Extension that I think is really cool (I can go into further detail if you are interested). But the thing is that I'm a REALLY broken lad and I was just wondering: what are the odds of Reaper acquiring it? I know this doesn't seem like the best place to try selling a product but hey, it's an open channel with you, so worth a try! haha. Thanks!

    In the case of the previous answer it was conjecture, but judging by the amount of pushback from having removed it 14 years ago (nearly none) I think it has proved correct.
