the signal to noise ratio in your posts is basically zero - you don't have any actionable requests, it reads like spam. think about it. you have to actually ask for something.

Question: In JSFX, when using slidershow to hide or show sliders, why is it that if the plugin is opened for the first time with some sliders hidden, the plugin window gets slightly shortened at the bottom? Then, when those sliders are made visible again, the window fails to automatically regain its full original size specified at the @gfx, requiring the plugin to be closed and reopened to restore the specified @gfx size. Is the initial window size being calculated based on that reduced number of visible sliders?

Question: Have you acquired formal education in programming or are you mainly autodidact? Wikipedia article says you dropped out of the university (where you studied computer science) after two quarters

That wikipedia is correct, yeah, I've learned programming on my own, the stuff in university was pretty much all stuff I already knew (I missed the opportunity to test out of intro classes)

Question: The only mp3 player I use to this day is Winamp v2.95 - it's worked flawlessly on every computer I've used. I purposefully sought you out to say thank you to you and your team that was responsible for coding it. It's everything I ever wanted in an mp3 player...simple, cool functions and plug-ins, and it just works. Since I started using it, I got married and her computer also sports V2.95 of winamp which in my opinion is the greatest mp3 player of all time. Lots of gratitude your way this Labor Day 2025

Question: Hi Justin. I'm a longtime fan of Winamp and the world's best plugin, 3D Spectrum Analyzer Dot Plane. Would you consider sharing its code so that it can be adapted to the capabilities of modern monitors (more dots, 16:9, etc.)? I'm not a good enough programmer to write such a marvel from scratch, but maybe I could modify something? Best regards and good luck!

(Did I write that? Or someone else did using openGL, I think?) Anyway I definitely don't have the code, but I could probably write a JSFX or REAPER video processor version of that, which would be fun. Maybe I'll do that!

Question: I have an app (not mine) which produces noise (white, pink,,,) for PA/FOH setup. In the app I can en-/disable if it should be uniform or natural. Could you break down what this means? (over my head lol: dsp.stackexchange.com/questions/70...

Skimming this, it would appear that white noise is defined as uniform noise in the frequency domain, not as uniform samples in the time domain? And apparently a Gaussian distribution of samples in the time domain will be a uniform noise in the frequency domain? (I might be wrong, schwa probably knows this better than I do, he's Mr Dither around here)

Question: And one more: I've noticed that bug reports from users with low message count are addressed more readily. Is this an accurate observation? Do you prioritize bug reports from new users or users who are not habitual forum lurkers? If you don't, how'd you explain my observation?
Asked by Asking (162.19.99.x) on August 28 2025, 10:41am
Reply on August 28 2025, 12:38pm:
It doesn't consciously factor in. If your observation is in fact true (I haven't measured it), then I would also say that correlation does not imply causation.
